Surgery
The most realistic, natural looking restoration for missing teeth.
Oral surgery refers to any surgical procedure performed on your teeth, gums, jaws or other oral structures. This includes extractions, implants, gum grafts and jaw surgeries. Oral surgery is usually performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or a periodontist.
List of Services
• Odontectomy - A procedure wherein the dentist will remove the tooth by separating and opening the gums, sometimes there is the necessity to remove bone around the tooth. This is especially common to third molar teeth due to the fact that most of the third molars are impacted (embedded under the jaw bone).
• Apicoectomy - A common dental procedure where inflamed gum tissue and the end of the root of your tooth is removed while the top of your tooth is left in place. It's often called a root-end resection because it works on the end (or, tip) of your root called the apex.
• Implant - A metal post that replaces the root portion of a missing tooth. An artificial tooth (crown) is placed on an extension of the post (abutment) on the dental implant, giving you the look of a real tooth.
